WEEE Waste – Electricals and Electronic Equipment
Disposing of electronic waste must be done legally to protect the environment.
Large household appliances such as Ovens and Fridges currently make up over 40% of WEEE but there are large volumes of other equipment such as IT equipment such as computers, Tv’s small household appliances, electrical tools, digital watches, electronic toys, and medical devices.
Because electricals items contain a mix of materials, this makes them much more difficult to dispose of.
For example a TV will Contain 6% metal and 50%. However, a cooker will consist on 89% metal and only 6% glass.
