    Where will the skip be placed? Off-road skips are skips that will be placed on private property for example a driveway or garden. On-road skips are being placed on public land, highways, curbs and footpaths.

    Why is this important?

    Please be aware – skips placed on public land without a permit can lead to a fine or penalty of up to £1000

    If you’re planning to place a skip on a road, pavement, grass verge or any other public land, then you will need a skip permit (sometimes called a skip licence). If you need a skip permit, we’ll arrange one on your behalf  – insurance is included in our service.  Please note skip permits do have an expiry date and the length of hire can be one week or one month depending on your local authority. We will confirm this by email or by phone with you and you will have the option to extend this if required.

    This skip will accept general waste only. Hazardous waste including railway sleepers and telegraph poles cannot be placed into a skip. If plasterboard, asbestos, fridges/freezers or televisions are placed into the skip, we will be unable to collect it, unless you arrange this with us first. Skips that are to be filled with hardcore, soil or stone must be no greater in size than a 6YD and must be level loaded.Read more
